JESUS SAID: BELIEVE
The Word Says It All, But Only Those With Unfeigned Hearts Understand!
“Believe” is all Jesus and the Apostles had to say, both for comprehension, as well as for the sake of simplicity, as the Bible so beautifully and miraculously keeps the profound simple.
Whether Jesus was talking to those in His inner circle or those in secular society, He always spoke plainly that salvation is for anyone who believes on Him. But when He used the word ‘believe’ He was conveying faith in Him in all seriousness, to those with unfeigned hearts before Him, not merely that they be aware of His Deity, but that they would bow down to His Deity. He didn’t have to add ‘well, as long as your hearts are true and you are serious about Me, because that’s clear and apparent .Therefore, there is no excuse or reason why anyone should fail to comprehend His Message with the use of a single word…..
We must take our relationship with God through Christ seriously.
And this is similar to our human relationships. When someone claims to believe something, naturally all who hear it assume that they mean what they are saying, unless there is something to make them question, and then they are free to ask, but the point remains—simplicity does not make void the entirety of the Gospel Message, but is perfectly all-encompassing, because of the thought-provoking power it inspires—
“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26)
“Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” (John 11:40)
“Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” (John 6:29)
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.” (John 14:1)
And, the Apostle Paul has said—
“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
“But the Scripture has confirmed all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.” (Galatians 3:22)
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6)
In conclusion, the simplicity in which both Jesus and Paul spoke regarding each individual heart-condition at foot of God’s Throne, because of the Cross, does not need further explanation than to simply ask, “Do you believe?”
Moreover, the brother of Jesus, James said in his Epistle, that even the demons believe and tremble, which further drives home the point that it’s about the heart condition; the Bible makes clear that the heart must be sincere, that head knowledge must be in place, but is not equivalent to the simple phrasing the Bible uses when it comes to faith: just believe……
“You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—-and tremble!” (James 2:19)
Featured below is a film that brilliantly conveys the Message of the Gospel in all simplicity. (And, it can’t only be my opinion because Google even calls this film “a notable example” of those in the category of Christian movies that charge a fee to view. It used to be free and I have seen it around 5 times, but then suddenly the makers of the film started charging for it. It’s not the only one that charges a fee, but there are not many that do. I don’t know what to make of this, but I wanted to at least provide the trailer here, because even the overview of this film is powerfully inspiring and could help someone understand salvation. Furthermore, this is an excellent film, the acting is superb and the drama is realistic, heart-pumping and just plain thrilling!)
